Quick Summary
NASA/SSC has issued a Special Notice for the sole source acquisition of Multi-Stage Liquid Oxygen (LOX) Pressure Control Valves. The agency intends to award a contract to Gosco Valves, a division of GGOSCO Engineering Inc., citing FAR 6.103-1 (Only one responsible source). Other interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform this effort by March 31, 2026, 3:00 pm CST.
Purpose & Intent
This notice serves to inform the public of NASA/SSC's intent to procure Multi-Stage LOX Pressure Control Valves on a sole source basis from Gosco Valves. The government is seeking to acquire a commercial product or service under FAR Part 12. This special notice allows other qualified sources to demonstrate their ability to meet the agency's requirements, which could lead to a competitive acquisition. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
Scope of Work
The requirement involves the fabrication, assembly, LOX cleaning, functional testing, and packaging of Multi-Stage Liquid Oxygen Pressure Control Valves, along with the provision of all supporting documentation. The valves must meet stringent technical requirements, configurations, materials, and performance details as outlined in the accompanying Statement of Work (SOW) and data sheet.
Technical Requirements
The valves require specific technical specifications, including:
- Fluid Type: Oxygen
- Temperature Range: -320 F to 100 F
- Pressure Rating: Up to 8,500 psi
- Materials: Stainless Steel for body/bonnet
- Actuator: Hydraulic, Double Acting Detailed specifications cover Tag Number, Service, Pipe Sizes, Design Pressure, Inlet Pressure, Max Flow, Body Type, Trim Type/Material, Seat Material, and Seal Type/Material. The accompanying data sheet takes precedence over the SOW for technical details.
Performance Standards
Valves must be cleaned for LOX service and undergo standard factory testing appropriate for cryogenic pressure-control valves. Test results and cleanliness certification are required with delivery. Documentation, including drawings, test reports, material certifications, cleaning certificates, and any special tools/kits, must be provided. Valves must be delivered fully assembled, cleaned, bagged, and ready for installation.
