Solicitation / RFP / RFQ

This solicitation is for the replacement of the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems at the Tuskegee Institute National Historic Site (TUIN) Maintenance Shop HVAC system. The estimated magnitude of this construction project is between $50,000.00 and $100,000.00.

• Removal of existing HVAC systems and replacement with new systems.

• Work must be performed in accordance with the attached construction specifications, drawings, and other supporting documents.

• Contractor must provide all labor, parts, tools, equipment, supervision, and incidentals.

• Davis Bacon prevailing wages for Sumter County, Georgia will apply.

• A construction safety plan is required.

Statement of Work (SOW)

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the requirements for the cyclic replacement of two HVAC systems at the TUIN Maintenance Building located at the Tuskegee Institute National Historic Site.

• Site Preparation & Cleanup: Contractors are responsible for providing a new pad for outdoor condensing units, site cleanup, and disposal of construction debris in accordance with an approved Waste Management and Disposal Plan.

• Equipment Specifications: New systems must be 5-ton, 18 SEER heat pump split systems. The brand specified is AMERICAN STANDARD OR LIKE KIND.

• Warranty: A one (1) year compressor warranty is required, with a five (5) year warranty on parts, as per commercial industry standards.

• Testing: Required tests include startup, temporary operation, and performance tests. A test and balance must be provided after equipment installation.

• Performance Period: 60 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.

• Location: Tuskegee Institute/Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site, Tuskegee, AL 36088.
