New SEI Industries, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) "Dragon Eggs" Aerial Ignition Spheres

Sources Sought Notice

This Sources Sought Notice (SS) is for information and planning purposes to identify vendors capable of providing SEI Industries "Dragon Eggs" Aerial Ignition Spheres. The USDA Forest Service (USFS) intends to procure an estimated 3,000 cases per year for use during prescribed burns and wildfire incidents. This notice is not a solicitation, and the government will not pay for any expenses incurred in responding.

• Provide SEI Industries (OEM), "Dragon Eggs" Aerial Ignition Spheres to multiple Incident Support Caches nationwide.

• The spheres must be compatible with and recognized as the national and interagency standard for use in authorized Aerial Ignition Devices, maintaining NWCG Aerial Ignition Device standards.

• This SS is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or an obligation to award a contract.

• No funds have been authorized or appropriated for this effort.

• Responses are due by 8:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time on Monday, April 6, 2026.

• Submissions should be emailed to Amy Tilley at amy.tilley@usda.gov.

• The subject line of the email must reference "Sources Sought 1202SC26SS0002 'Dragon Eggs' Aerial Ignition Spheres".

• Responses are limited to twenty (20) pages.

• Vendors must provide their Company Name, Mailing Address, SAM UEID number and expiration date, Point of Contact information, Company's Size Standard (based on NAICS Code 115340 or pertaining), and any existing Government Contract Numbers and Schedules.

• A Capability Statement outlining core capabilities, available technology, past performance, and other differentiators is required.

• Proof of SEI Industries authorization as a certified 3rd party vendor/authorized distributor is required.

• The USFS may use the information gathered to develop a future solicitation.

• Proprietary information submitted will be safeguarded if marked in accordance with FAR 3.104-4.

• Responding does not guarantee participation in future activities.

This Sources Sought Notice (SS) is for informational and planning purposes to identify vendors capable of providing SEI Industries "Dragon Eggs" Aerial Ignition Spheres. The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) may use this information to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) in the future. The government will not pay for any expenses incurred in responding to this notice.

The USFS intends to procure an estimated 3,000 cases per year of "Dragon Eggs" Aerial Ignition Spheres for use during prescribed burns and wildfire incidents. These spheres are recommended by SEI Industries and are compatible with NWCG-approved aerial ignition devices, recognized as the national and interagency standard.

Vendors should be able to provide SEI Industries (OEM), "Dragon Eggs" Aerial Ignition Spheres to multiple Incident Support Caches nationwide.

Respondents must submit a capability statement (limited to 20 pages) outlining:

• Core capabilities
• Available technology
• Past performance
• Other differentiators

Additionally, the following information must be submitted:

• Company Name
• Company Mailing Address
• SAM UEID number & SAM Registration expiration date
• Company Point of Contact (name, telephone number, and e-mail address)
• Company's Size Standard (based on NAICS Code 115340 or pertaining)
• Existing Government Contract Numbers and Schedules (if any)
• Proof of SEI Industries authorization as a certified 3rd party vendor/authorized distributor.
• Any other pertinent information to assist the government in adjusting specifications for a follow-on solicitation.

Responses are due by close of business (5:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time) on March 26, 2026, via email to amy.tilley@usda.gov. The subject line should reference "Sources Sought 1202SC26SS0002 'Dragon Eggs' Aerial Ignition Spheres".

• This is not a solicitation, and no contract will be awarded based on this RFI.
• The government reserves the right to reject any or all input.
• Submitted information may be used to develop acquisition strategy and Statement of Work for a future solicitation.
