- Material Quality: Designated as Special Emphasis (Level I), requiring strict adherence to specifications to prevent critical failures.
- Manufacturing: Internal threads must be cut, not cold-formed. One additional fastener per heat/lot is required with full traceability.
- Traceability & Certification: Extensive certification is required for chemical and mechanical properties, including Liquid Penetrant Inspection or Magnetic Particle Inspection per T9074-AS-GIB-010/271 and MIL-DTL-1222. Material certification reports must be traceable to markings on the material.
- Quality System: Contractors must maintain a quality system compliant with ISO-9001 (with ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3/ISO-17025 calibration) or MIL-I-45208 (with MIL-STD-45662 calibration).
- Inspections: Government Quality Assurance (GQA) will be performed at the source. Receiving and final inspections include 100% verification of material certifications, traceability markings, and NDT certifications. Material sampling for final inspection follows ANSI/ASQ-Z1.4 or applicable military specifications.
- Configuration Control: Waivers, deviations, and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) require Contracting Officer approval.
