Scope of Work

Contractor will provide on-demand/on-site technical support for government-owned medical equipment at LBVAHCS. Key tasks include:

  • Performing Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) according to manufacturer instructions and defined frequencies.
  • Conducting inspections, disassembly/assembly, adjustments, cleaning, calibrations, and replacement of defective components.
  • Assisting with hardware/software installation, diagnosis, and resolution of reported issues.
  • Providing all labor for repairs; inadequate repairs must be corrected at no additional expense.
  • Identifying and quoting necessary parts and consumables for authorization (VA will provide PM parts and calibration sets).
  • Equipment covered includes, but is not limited to, Vital Signs Monitors, Alaris Pump Modules, Kangaroo ePump, Surgical Tables, Beds, and Stretchers.

Performance Standards

PMs must ensure equipment meets or exceeds manufacturer's specifications. The contractor is solely responsible for performing PMs, and failure to do so within the coordinated month may result in payment deductions. Detailed individual results reports, approved by Biomedical Engineering personnel, are required for all services.

Contract Details

  • Contract Type: Combined Synopsis/Solicitation (RFQ) for commercial products and services.
  • Period of Performance: One base year with four one-year options.
  • Place of Performance: Long Beach Veterans Affairs Healthcare System (LBVAHCS), 5901 E. 7th Street, Long Beach, CA 90822. Services are to be performed within the Hospital, with no outside clinics.

  • Contractor Badging: Mandatory compliance with VA Handbook 0735 – HSPD-12, including background checks and fingerprinting (up to 30 days processing).
  • Mandatory Training: Approximately two hours of training via VA's electronic Training Management System (TMS) is required before badges are issued (e.g., VA Privacy, Cyber Security, HIPAA).
