This document is a purchase description for the acquisition of a new Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Horizontal Boring & Milling Machine. The contractor will be responsible for the complete removal of existing equipment, installation of new equipment, training personnel, rigging, quality assurance, and providing a turn-key system at FRCSW North Island, CA. This machine will replace an existing HS6R Boring-Milling machine and will be located in the Beryllium Copper Shop.

• Machine must include all components, parts, and features to meet performance requirements.

• Parts subject to wear, breakage, or distortion must be accessible for adjustment, replacement, and repair.

• Measuring and indicating devices must be graduated in U.S. customary units; electronic systems demonstrating switching capability are acceptable.

• Controls (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic) must be conveniently located.

• Safety and Health Requirements: Compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and OPNAV 5100.23G or equivalent standards.

• Audible noise level must not exceed 84 decibels (dB) at the operator's work position or 3 feet from the equipment.
