This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial products or services to procure the replacement of instrument booms and related equipment in Operating Rooms 9 and 10 at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center. The acquisition is conducted under FAR Part 12 and is sole-sourced from Skytron LLC.

• Removal and disposal of existing, non-functioning instrument booms in OR 9 and OR 10.

Justification and Approval for Restricting Competition

This document justifies restricting competition for the acquisition of surgical booms and related equipment for Operating Rooms (OR) 9 and 10 at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center. The existing booms are beyond their useful life, cannot be maintained, and pose a risk to patient safety and sterile environments, leading to OR closures and rescheduled procedures. The action involves removing old booms and installing new Skytron "Freedom Booms" series equipment.

• Removal of damaged surgical booms.

• Installation of new Skytron "Freedom Booms" series equipment.

• Specific equipment includes: two equipment/monitor booms, two monitor/camera booms, two anesthesia booms, and one extended Aurora 4 surgical light boom.
