Statement of Work (SOW)

This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines the requirements for the supply and delivery of custom metal-jacketed resistive heaters for vacuum bakeout on the ALS-U SR vacuum systems.

• Provide specified custom metal-jacketed heaters.
• Provide 2-d detailed drawings for each heater type.
• Label packaging for clear identification and traceability.
• Pack components to ensure safe transport and storage.
• Provide Quality Assurance (QA) documentation, including Material Certificates, Certificate of Conformance, and packing lists.

The following heater types are required:

• 11 distinct heater configurations with varying quantities, sheath lengths, power ratings, and voltages.
• Specific part numbers are listed for some configurations (e.g., HHS01073, HHS01092).
• Equivalent substitutions for components are acceptable if they meet or exceed performance and material requirements.

A documentation package must accompany each delivery, including:

• Packing list (detailing part number, quantity, and batch number).

• Material Certificate (e.g., Inconel 600 Jacket material certification).

• Certificate of Conformance (CoC) verifying compliance with LBNL specifications, including component matching and traceability.

• Heater hot zone length tolerance: +/-0/-4mm.

• Heater hot zone thickness tolerance: +/-0.1mm.

• Heater metal jacket material: Inconel 600.

• Heater hot zone transition material: 316L stainless steel.

• Heater hot zone transition insulation: High-temperature cement potting.

• Heater lead wire length tolerance: +4/-0in.

• Heater termination: Type M1.

• Heater power leads: 22 AWG stranded NPC, rated for 250°C and 300V, with radiation-compatible insulation (fiberglass or Kapton; Teflon not allowed).

• Heater resistance tolerance: +/-10%.

• Delivery within 52 business days following subcontract award.

• Place of performance is implied to be LBNL.

• All components must be clean, dry, and free of debris.

• Items must be cushioned and securely blocked within the container.

• Containers over 50 lbs. must be on a pallet.

• A packing slip must accompany each shipment.

• Outer containers must be clearly labeled with delivery address, LBNL contact, part number, PO number, and handling symbols.

• Subcontractor must provide tracking numbers for shipments.

• Deliverables must conform to SOW specifications, quantities, and conditions.

• Certificates of Conformance referencing the LBNL PO number are required.

• LBNL will perform a receiving inspection to verify items meet functional acceptance criteria.

Failure to complete and return this form, or providing erroneous information, may render the Offeror nonresponsible or lead to contract termination. Solicitation / RFQ

This Request for Quotation (RFQ) is issued by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) for the procurement of various cable heaters. The items are specified by length and thickness, with quantities listed for each.

• Cable heaters of specified lengths (150mm to 5000mm) and thicknesses (1mm and 1.5mm).

• Quantities range from 16 to 223 units per item.

• Sustainability requirements, including Environmentally Preferable Products and Services (EPP), are applicable.

• Offerors must include the cost of shipping insurance.

• If items are of foreign origin, LBNL will act as the shipping importer of record to seek reimbursement for tariff costs.

• The resulting award will be a subcontract under the UC/DOE Contract.

• Payment terms are Net 15 for small businesses.

• Prices will be considered firm and fixed.

• Quotations must be submitted via email to AAnoop@lbl.gov by May 29, 2026.

• The RFQ Date is May 14, 2026.

• Offerors must include a declarative statement of acceptance of mandatory requirements.
