Lengths are specified as single random lengths of 15 to 22 feet, with permissible variations. Key requirements include:
- Prohibition of varnish as a preservative and strict surface finish standards (not greater than 250 Ra).
- Mandatory testing certifications for seamless tubing/pipe, including ultrasonic inspection (T9074-AS-GIB-010/271 and MIL-P-24691). NDT Electric Test (Eddy current) is not an acceptable alternate for Hydrostatic Testing.
- Customer Source Inspection / Witness of UT inspection is required.
- Chemical and Mechanical Certification in accordance with DI-MISC-81020.
- Comprehensive Quality Assurance: Contractors must maintain a quality system compliant with ISO-9001 (or MIL-I-45208 as an alternate) and calibration systems per ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 with ISO-17025 (or MIL-STD-45662 as an alternate). Suppliers of Level I/SUBSAFE material must submit documented quality system procedures prior to award.
- Strict Traceability: Material must have unique traceability markings (heat-lot, heat-treat numbers) directly linking to chemical composition and mechanical properties certification data. Re-identification and re-certification are required if material properties are altered.

Evaluation
