For any alternate source to be considered, they must qualify in accordance with the design control activity’s procedures, as approved by the cognizant Government engineering activity. Government source approval is required prior to contract award.
Companies not currently approved must submit the information detailed in the NAVSUP WSS Source Approval Information Brochure for Repair along with their proposal. This brochure can be obtained by contacting the PCO or visiting https://www.navsup.navy.mil/NAVSUP-Enterprise/NAVSUP-Weapon-Systems-Support/Business-Opps/. Offers lacking the required source approval data will not be considered. The time required for new source approval is typically extensive, and award may proceed based on Fleet support needs if approval cannot be processed in time.
