Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To provide a Protestant Contemporary Worship Service Music Director for Whiteman AFB.

• Lead music selection and performance for contemporary worship services according to Protestant traditions.

• Select worship songs, offertories, and contemporary religious music.

• Direct music team rehearsals.

• Support service members' rights for religious expression and freedom.

• Coordinate and plan Protestant Contemporary Services with the Senior Protestant Chaplain.

• Direct the Worship Team.

• Select and distribute songs to the Worship Team at least 24 hours prior to rehearsal.

• Assist with setup and tear down of musical equipment.

• Arrive 10 minutes prior to rehearsals and 30 minutes prior to services/events.

• Maintain a written log of work performed.

• Vocal proficiency equivalent to a "Good" rating or higher, assessed on pitch accuracy, tone quality, articulation, and expression (minimum 24/30 points).

• Instrumental proficiency (preferred) may earn up to 5 bonus points.

• Familiarity with operating sound systems and worship music projection systems.

• Familiarity with CCLI web-based music programs and display software.

• Up to 112 units per year, with a unit defined as one worship service, rehearsal, or meeting (up to two hours).

• Applicant must provide a resume and a 1-3 minute video of vocal performance.

• Demonstrate basic knowledge of the Christian Faith (Protestant) and familiarity with Protestant Contemporary musical traditions.

• Training and experience in worship planning and musical instrument abilities (keyboard and/or guitar preferred).

• Ability to recruit volunteer musicians and vocalists, build cohesive music teams, and lead congregational worship.

• Ability to work cooperatively with chapel staff and members of other faith groups.

• Must undergo successful background checks (DoDI 1402.5).

• Comply with DoD security regulations for For Official Use Only (FOUO) material.

• Report security threats to appropriate government authorities.

• Implement key control procedures.

• Safeguard government property and facilities.

• Replacements must meet qualifications and be approved by the chaplain; long-term replacements (over 2 weeks) are not permitted.

• All equipment and supplies will be provided by the Whiteman AFB Chaplain Corps.
