Scope of Work
The contractor shall provide six (6) qualified stationary engineers/operators to support the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital. Key responsibilities include:
- Operating and maintaining four (4) Cleaver Brooks 35,000 lb/hr water tube boilers (125psi normal header pressure).
- Operating and maintaining three (3) 1,200-ton Carrier Chillers and associated facility equipment, including HVAC support.
- Adhering to VHA Directives, such as VHA Directive 1810 ("Boiler and Boiler Plant Operations"), and the VHA Boiler and Associated Plant Safety Device Testing Manual.
- Performing daily, shift, and as-required tasks detailed in the Statement of Work.
- Providing bi-weekly written assessment reports of the boiler plant and supporting equipment.
- Complying with facility requirements, including drug-free workplace, no smoking, and weapon prohibition, and VHA Directive 1192 regarding influenza vaccination.
Personnel Requirements
- Personnel must possess a City of Chicago Stationary Engineer's License.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience with high-pressure boilers and HVAC operations is required.
- Contractor personnel will undergo NACI Tier 1 background investigations and require PIV cards.

- Period of Performance: Base period from August 1, 2026, through July 31, 2027, with four (4) additional one-year option periods.
