Quick Summary
The Department of the Interior, National Park Service (NPS) is soliciting proposals for the repair and restoration of the 2.4KV Overhead Distribution Line supplying power to the Wawona Tunnel in Yosemite National Park, Mariposa County, CA. This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside opportunity. The work involves repairing storm-damaged conductors on 45-50 ft poles. Offers are due by April 28, 2026, at 1400 hours local time.
Scope of Work
The project requires the repair of a 2.4 kV, Solid #2 copper, three-phase overhead distribution line damaged by falling trees during a heavy winter storm. Key tasks include de-tensioning and dropping damaged conductors (Phases 2 and 3), repairing and splicing conductor sections to restore mechanical strength and electrical continuity, and re-hanging and re-tensioning repaired conductors on poles. This involves pole climbing on structures approximately 45-50 ft in height. The contractor must also determine the safest access route, maintain worksite control, protect natural resources, and remove all contractor-generated debris.
