Quick Summary
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is soliciting proposals for a Firm Fixed-Price contract to repair the steam line and condensate system in Building 53 at the VA Health Care System in Lyons, New Jersey. This Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside opportunity aims to restore reliable system operation by replacing critical components. Proposals are due May 5, 2026, by 11:00 AM EST.
Scope of Work
The project involves the demolition and removal of the existing steam condensate tank, pumps, and controls. The contractor will then install a new steam condensate tank, pumps, pump controls, control panel, a 4-inch steam PRV, a 4-inch steam strainer, and 4-inch Schedule 40 black steel piping. This includes all required valves, isolators, fittings, pipe insulation and jacketing, electrical materials, wiring, and rigging. The scope also covers steam leak repair (strainer, PRV, associated piping, gaskets, bolts, insulation) and condensate leak repair (tank, pumps, valves, vent line, associated piping, gaskets, bolts, insulation). Contractors must coordinate steam shutdowns with VA personnel, perform startup, testing, safety, quality control, and closeout activities. Material disposal is the contractor's responsibility, and the project schedule can be adjusted for equipment lead times.
