Scope of Work
NSWC Crane's Power and Energy Division utilizes various NHR battery cycling equipment, which is no longer supported by the manufacturer (Emerson, formerly NHR/NI). The requirement is for repair services to maintain operational readiness of this equipment. NSWC Crane has licensed technical data packages available for interested vendors.
Equipment requiring repair includes:
- NHR 9300 Cabinets (requires on-site repair at NSWC Crane)
- NHR 9200 Regenerative Cycler (with 4904, 4912, 4960 modules)
- NHR 4700 1kW and 3kW programmable resistive loads
- NHR 4760 programmable loads
- NHR 4800 regenerative battery cyclers
Key requirements for NHR 9300 cabinets (on-site repair):
- Thorough understanding of the NHR 9300 system (setup, operation, programming, troubleshooting, repairs, calibration, verification, documentation, firmware/EEPROM programming).
- Understanding of NHR diagnostic software.
- Necessary fixtures for calibration to original specifications.
- NIST traceable calibration with results provided.
- Access to service manuals, schematics, and supply chain for parts (salvaged parts preferred).
- Detailed post-repair report.
- Repair personnel must meet base access requirements (clean criminal record, approved ID).
Key requirements for other NHR equipment (can be shipped):
- Power electronics experience and component-level diagnostics.
- Access to schematics and replacement parts (transistors, capacitors, resistors, inductors, control ICs).
- Ability to recalibrate to original specifications and perform EEPROM programming.
- Understanding of NHR diagnostic software.
- Access to service manuals, schematics, and supply chain for parts (salvaged parts a plus).
- Detailed post-repair report.
- NIST traceable calibration with results provided.
- Necessary fixtures for calibration to original specifications.
- Solder certification at IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-7711/7721.
