This market research seeks industry capabilities for the Thrust Control Unit (TCU), Spin Control Unit (SCU), SCU Acceptance Test Equipment (ATE), and Canister. Responses are due July 10, 2026.
Scope of Work
The Nulka MK 234 EDC provides self-defense against radar-homing Anti-Ship Missiles for USN and Royal Australian Navy (RAN) ships. This RFI/SS focuses on:
- TCU: Redesign for obsolescence (motor), manufacture, sustainment, and ATE manufacture.
- SCU: Redesign for obsolescence (DC motor, electronics), manufacture, and sustainment.
- SCU ATE: Design improvement (automation, data capture), manufacture (3 units), and ongoing engineering support.
- Canister: Build-to-Print, sustainment, and repair (corrosion, wire assemblies, seal integrity). Interested companies may respond to one, multiple, or all capability areas.
Response Requirements
Submit a Capability Statement (max 3 pages per Need, max 12 pages total if responding to all) addressing:
- Project Management: Technical program, cost/schedule, performance examples, capacity.
- Engineering Management: System safety, systems engineering, obsolescence management.
- Design Engineering: Modeling/simulation, prototyping, specialist test equipment.
- Quality Management: Configuration management, quality control.
- Integrated Logistics & Support: Technical writing, inventory, spares, maintenance, supply chain, refurbishment.
- Facilities: Electronics lab, metal working, paint shop (Canister only), other relevant facilities. Also, indicate commercial solutions, document facility limitations for Australian foreign nationals, describe specific product/service offerings, detail any inability to meet needs, and state limitations in handling classified information.

Responses must include company name, address, business size, facility security clearance, UEI, CAGE, contractor status, and POC.
