Scope of Work
This solicitation is for 1/2 inch IPS, 1500 PSI Restrictor Units to be supplied in accordance with MS18301, MS18301-01, and MS18301-07. The material is designated as Level I due to its use in crucial shipboard systems where failure could result in serious personnel injury, loss of life, or loss of vital shipboard systems. Key requirements include:
- Material: Orifice Plate (Level 1) made from ASTM-A240 Type 304.
- Testing: Intergranular Corrosion Testing (Orifice Plate per ASTM-A262, Practice E) and Non-Destructive Tests for weld repairs.
- Welding/Brazing: Must comply with S9074-AR-GIB-010A/278, 0900-LP-001-7000, or S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248. Procedures and qualification data require prior approval.
- Quality System: Must maintain a quality system in accordance with ISO-9001 (or MIL-I-45208 as an alternate) and calibration system requirements of ISO-10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 with ISO-17025 (or MIL-STD-45662 as an alternate).
- Traceability & Certification: Strict traceability from material to certification test reports is required for Level I/SUBSAFE systems, including unique traceability numbers and material marking per MIL-STD-792. Quantitative chemical and mechanical analysis is mandatory. Electronic signatures on certification documents are acceptable under controlled conditions.
- Configuration Control: Contractor must maintain equipment baseline configuration. Waivers/Deviations and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for Class I/II changes require Government approval.
- Mercury Free: All materials must be mercury-free.
