Quick Summary

The Department of the Army, specifically W6QK ACC-APG NATICK, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for Arctic Mobility Sustainment System (AMSS) Kit Components. This RFI seeks mature technologies (TRL 7+) to equip dismounted soldiers for 72-hour operations in extreme Arctic environments. The goal is to improve mobility, reduce logistical strain, and enhance soldier safety by modernizing outdated equipment. This is for market research only and does not constitute a solicitation. Responses are due by April 16, 2026, 5pm EST.

The RFI is interested in Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) or emerging technologies for various components, including:

  • Emergency Stove: Collapsible, lightweight, compatible with wood and solid fuels.

General System Requirements: All systems must be Berry Amendment and Buy American Act compliant, fully operational at -40F (ideally -65F), ergonomically suitable for cold-weather gear, lightweight, subdued color, capable of 72-hour missions, with 5 years useful life and 10 years storage life, and meet MIL-STD-810H.
