Key Requirements
The required ballistic helmets must meet or exceed NIJ Level-IIIA ballistic performance and ACH Blunt Impact Protection requirements. Key features include:
- Padding/Liner System: Dual-layered, adjustable, with at least 14 individual pads, anti-microbial wicking fabric, and a removable center pad.
- Color & Covers: Available in Coyote Brown and Black, with covers in Tactical Black and Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP). Covers must have Velcro, a bungee retention system, cable management, and an NVG shroud opening.
- Retention System: Meets ACH pull strength, features a dial system, single one-handed quick-release, and padded chinstrap with extender.
- Night Vision Shroud: Detachable WILCOX three-hole shroud (Part # 56100G34) compatible with various AN/PVS and AN/PSQ devices.
- Accessory Rail System: Bolt-attached, coyote brown or black side rails with Magpul MOE 5-Slot Mounting Kit, compatible with specific Surefire, Princeton Tech, Liberator, 3M Com-TAC, M-50 Gas Mask, and Paulson Riot Shield accessories.
- Other: High-cut ear clearance, military-grade Velcro patches, weight between 1.6-2.8 lbs, accommodates hat sizes 6 5/8 - 7 7/8, includes care instructions, and is Berry Amendment compliant.
