Purpose & Scope

The USPS aims to modernize its fleet management processes for over 10,500 PIVs (forklifts, rider pallet jacks, tow motors) by implementing a comprehensive telematics system. The system should manage, monitor, and maintain the entire PIV fleet, providing hardware, peripherals, and software for data collection. It will establish a cloud environment for data processing, storage, and dissemination, develop algorithms for predictive PIV replenishment and maintenance, and integrate with current and future USPS systems. The system must support up to 500 USPS facilities and be available 24/7/365.

Requested Information & Key Requirements

Suppliers are asked to provide:

  • Preliminary cost estimates (licensing, service fees, rate structures, installation).
  • Product specifications and service capabilities, indicating how they meet functional requirements detailed in the draft Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Responses to a questionnaire covering:
    • Support for various PIV types and scalability for up to 10,500 PIVs.
    • Cloud service provider details and FedRAMP certification.
    • Compatibility with various PIV manufacturers and models.
    • Support for OSHA PIV safety checklists and real-time alerts.
    • Hardware update mechanisms and role-based user administration.
  • Key functional requirements include determining optimal PIV replacement, tracking replenishment needs, enforcing PM schedules, managing PIV status violations, and reporting battery status. Optional functions include automated access control, impact monitoring, and collision avoidance.
  • Special requirements include ruggedized hardware, operation in diverse environmental conditions, USPS data ownership, and comprehensive maintenance support with warranties.

Submission Details

Responses must include the supplier's history and experience with the offered technology, company information (name, subsidiaries, address, website, overview, POC details), and must not exceed 30 pages.
