The requirement is for a new RS/RV Centrifuge system to replace existing Applied Motion Technology precision centrifuges. This system will support operational acceptance/assurance testing, troubleshooting, repair, and aging/surveillance testing of MMIII MK12A and MK21 Reentry Vehicles and their components. Key requirements include:

  • Physical/Functional: Footprint (18' W x 18' D x 8' H), installation on existing concrete slabs, controller/desk (approx. 10' x 6'), 480 VAC/3 Phase/60 Hz and 120/208 VAC/3 Phase/60 Hz power.
  • Mounting Platforms: 24" square minimum, mechanically/electrically compatible with existing Air Force fixtures, 4x4 grid bolt pattern.
  • Slip Rings: Minimum 76 individually shielded channels, isolated from frame/spindle, grounded to machine frame, electrical noise < 0.010 volts.
  • Controller/Computer: Windows 11 Enterprise, Intel i7 (or later), 16 GB RAM, 500 GB SSD, TPM 2.0, no wireless/photographic/audio recording capabilities. System must operate in a TEMPEST-controlled environment.
  • Performance: Centrifugal capacity of 24000 G-pounds minimum, G range of 0 to 150 Gs minimum, speed stability drift < ± 0.02% per minute, load capacity of 160 lbs minimum, acceleration rates of 0-150 G in 15 seconds or less for 160 lbs, and automatic dynamic unbalance system.
  • Warranty & Service Life: Minimum 12-month warranty from Site Acceptance Test (SAT) completion, 1000 hours spindle run-time guarantee, and 20-year sustainment/service life.
