Quick Summary
The National Park Service (NPS), under the Department of the Interior, is soliciting proposals for the removal and disposal of a small boat dock facility at Hyde Street Pier, San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. This acquisition is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Quotes are due March 20, 2026, by 2:00 pm Mountain Time.
Scope of Work
The contractor will be responsible for the complete removal and off-site recycling/disposal of the small boat dock facility. This includes the long dock, finger docks, shed, handrails, conduit, wires, pipes, and two of the three aluminum gangways (the third will be moved by NPS staff). Utilities (water and electric) must be disconnected and capped. Importantly, no pilings are to be removed. Work must commence within 10 days of award and be completed within 60 days.
Permitting & Environmental Clarifications
Initial solicitation requirements regarding permits have been clarified by Amendment 0001. The contractor is not required to secure permits for the dock removal itself, as this is allowed under current operational authorities. However, the contractor is responsible for obtaining any necessary permits for the transport and recycling/disposal of removed materials. The project is considered an environmental benefit, eliminating shadow over the bay floor, and no adverse effect on historic preservation is anticipated.
