Key Requirements & Special Conditions
- Source Approval: Item requires engineering source approval by the design activity. New manufacturers must contact the buyer for Source Approval Request (SAR) procedures.
- First Article Testing (FAT): A pre-award survey and post-award conference may be required for new manufacturers. One unit of CAGE 05259, Part Number 530E001-501, Revision latest, must be delivered for FAT within 60 calendar days of contract award. The estimated cost for government FAT is $12,000, which will be added to offerors' prices. FAT includes visual, dimensional, initial/final leak tests, 18-inch free fall drop test, and form/fit check.
- FAT Waiver: Offerors may request a waiver if they have previously supplied identical, accepted production units within three years from the same production location, with a certification. Two prices (with and without FAT) must be submitted if a waiver is requested.
- Production Testing: 100% of production units are subject to an 18-inch free fall drop test and a 100% production leak test.
