The Fermi Forward Discovery Group (FFDG), on behalf of Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab), is soliciting proposals for a SNSPD Detector System Upgrade. This opportunity seeks a subcontractor to provide a firm fixed price for high detection efficiency nanowire detectors and associated systems. Proposals are due May 25, 2026, at 4:00 PM CT.
Scope of Work
The requirement includes the procurement and implementation of:
- Four (4) SNSPD Detectors with specific performance criteria: >85% PDE at 1550 nm, ≤ 25 ps FWHM timing jitter, ≤ 60 ns recovery to 50% efficiency, no latching, ≤100 dark counts per second, and Photon Number resolving capability for N=2 and N=3 photons.
- Cryogenic amplifiers and readout electronics for the detectors.
- One (1) Controllable solenoid vacuum valve system, comprising a vacuum pump, relays, and control electronics for full automation of the cryostat cooldown procedure. All components must be integrated within the existing Quantum Opus One Cryostat enclosure (3U rack size). The place of performance is Batavia, IL.

Evaluation & Submission

- Completed Subcontractor Annual Representations & Certifications (SARC).
