Quick Summary

The US Army Corps of Engineers, NY District, under the Department of the Army, is conducting a Sources Sought for market research to identify qualified firms for dredging and material placement at two locations: Gravesend Bay Anchorage and Arthur Kill Channel in New York. This is for planning purposes only; no awards will be made from this announcement. Responses are due by April 10, 2026, at 4:00 PM EST.

Scope of Work

This project combines two distinct dredging efforts for efficiency:

  • Gravesend Bay Anchorage (Area 1): Deepening the anchorage from -47 ft. Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW) to -50 ft. MLLW and widening it to accommodate larger vessels. This involves dredging approximately 1,000,000 cubic yards of material, to be placed at the Historic Area Remediation Site (HARS).
  • Arthur Kill Channel (Area 2): Removing remaining foundations of the original Goethals Bridge dolphins, which pose navigational hazards, and deepening the channel in that vicinity from -35 ft. MLLW to -42 ft. MLLW. Approximately 15,000 cubic yards of dredged material and debris (concrete) will be placed upland.
