Purpose
TYAD seeks to identify American companies with the interest and capability to domestically manufacture and supply critical motor bearings for Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors used in sUAS. This market research will inform future acquisition strategies.
Key Requirements
TYAD is seeking domestic sources for the following bearings or suitable equivalents:
- MR616-2RS: 6mm ID, 16mm OD, 5mm Thickness (for motors larger than 31mm)
- MR126-2RS: 6mm ID, 12mm OD, 4mm Thickness (for motors 28 - 31mm)
- MR105-2RS: 5mm ID, 10mm OD, 4mm Thickness (for motors 24 - 27mm)
Sourcing and Compliance
- Domestic Sourcing: All bearing materials must not be sourced from the People’s Republic of China, the Russian Federation, the Islamic Republic of Iran, or the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
- Specialty Metals: Products must comply with the Berry Amendment (10 U.S.C. 2533a) and DFARS 252.225-7008/7009 regarding specialty metals. Respondents must demonstrate capability to meet these requirements.
Submission Details
- Format: A brief capabilities statement (maximum 10 pages, 10-point font minimum, bullet format) in Microsoft Word or PDF.
- Content: Include organization name, address, Points of Contact (POCs), contact information, ownership type, tailored capability statements with supporting documentation, and details on any anticipated subcontracting or teaming arrangements.
- Deadline: Electronically submit no later than 12:00 p.m. EDT on March 30, 2026.
