Quick Summary
The US Army is conducting market research through a Sources Sought announcement to identify Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) Specialized Computer Hardware (SCH) solutions. This hardware is needed to support multiple critical missions, hosting and executing applications with intense workloads. Responses will help determine industry interest and capability. Responses are due by June 30, 2026, at 1500 Central Standard Time.
Scope of Work
The SCH must be a 1U form factor system in a 19" rack, featuring 1 or more enterprise-class x86 processors (e.g., Intel Scalable or AMD EPYC) totaling 40+ cores, and at least 256 GB of DDR4 (or faster) ECC memory (192 GB if shared). It requires a removable/replaceable power supply (100/240V VAC or 10-36 VDC), at least one PCIe 3.0x16 or better interface for a discrete graphics card, and a total storage capacity of 4 TB. The system must include at least one removable Gen3 SATA or faster SSD/NVMe SSD.
Compliance with various environmental (MIL-STD-901D, MIL-STD-167-1, MIL-STD-810G, IEC 60068-2-27, etc.) and manufacturing standards (AS5553, AS9100D, no banned country parts) is mandatory. The SCH must be Technology Readiness Level 7 or higher, support Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.x or newer, KVM hypervisors, discrete TPM 2.0, and include robust security features, cyber-resilient BIOS, and tamper resistance. Specific front and rear panel I/O (USB 3.0+, Ethernet) are also required.
