Quick Summary
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Portland District (NWP) intends to solicit bids for Auxiliary Water Supply Backup Debris Management at The Dalles Lock and Dam (TDA). This Design-Bid-Build construction project will implement a mechanical system to clear debris from trashracks. This opportunity is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The solicitation is anticipated for late June/early July 2026, with an award in September 2026.
Project Background & Scope
This project addresses the need for a predesigned mechanical method to dislodge debris from the trashracks at the East Fish Ladder (EFL) Auxiliary Water Supply Backup (AWSB) system intake at The Dalles Lock and Dam in Oregon. The current method requires shutting down the AWSB system for manual clearing. The scope includes:
- Predesigned AWSB Intake Trashrack Cleaning System: Based on a telescoping boom-mounted rotating bristle brush (trashrake).
- Infrastructure: Pavement repairs, trenching for power/controls, fixed upper and lower operator/mechanic platforms (structural steel, epoxy anchored).
- Electrical & Controls: Power from MCC FCQ7, routed to the AWSB intake. Vendor-supplied control system with operator-initiated cycles, integrated with the East Exit Fish SCADA PLC for monitoring.
