Scope of Work

The contractor shall provide comprehensive underwater hull services for the USCGC MAURICE JESTER. This includes:

  • Inspection: A thorough diver inspection of the vessel's underwater body and appendages, including hull plating, coating system, transducers, drive systems, rudders, fin stabilizers, bow thruster, propeller shaft, propellers, speed probe, zinc anodes, and cathodic protection. Inspection will identify marine growth, pitting, corrosion, damage, and obstructions.
  • Cleaning: Cleaning of all designated underwater hull surfaces to remove marine growth, debris, and contaminants without damaging existing coatings or non-coated surfaces. Environmental regulations must be followed to minimize discharge of antifoulant paint and fouling organisms. Soft brushes or less abrasive techniques are required, and vacuum cleaning technologies are encouraged.
  • Zinc Renewal: Replacement of underwater zinc anodes in accordance with specified Maintenance Procedure Cards (MPCs), specifically MPC B10018.D, including 12 additional stern tube zincs not detailed in the current MPC. Government-furnished anodes, fasteners, and screws will be provided.
