To procure and install a Gooseneck Service Body on a 2026 Silverado HD 5500 crew cab chassis for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife/U.S. Wildland Fire Service, Montana Fire Zone.

• Vehicle Fitment: 2026 Silverado HD 5500 Crew Cab and chassis with a 60" cab to axle.

• Service Body Construction: Gooseneck style with raised front, flip top, and rear underbody integrated compartments. Constructed from 14-gauge, A-40 galvanneal steel.

• Key Features:

  • Full height slam tailgate with center mounted release handle.
  • 7" Deep rear step.
  • Headboard with stop-turn lights.
  • B&W Turnoverball® (or equivalent) hitch rated for 30,000 lb. gross trailer weight.

• Shelves have a six-year warranty.

• Vehicle Delivery: Anticipated in fall 2026 (October through December).

• Build Timeframe: Not to exceed 3 months from vehicle delivery or availability for pickup.

• Place of Performance: Lewistown, MT.

• Delivery Logistics:

  • If contractor is >250 miles from Lewistown, MT: Contractor responsible for retrieving the chassis, transporting for installation, and returning the completed vehicle to Lewistown, MT at their own cost.
  • If contractor is <250 miles from Lewistown, MT: Government will deliver the vehicle to the contractor and retrieve it upon completion, at no cost to the contractor.
