Quick Summary

The NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Yokosuka Site Sasebo intends to issue a competitive solicitation for the provision of a Temporary Chill Water Unit for the USS PIONEER (MCM-9). This work, to be performed in Sasebo, Japan, involves installing, maintaining, and removing temporary chill water units to ensure specific temperature levels aboard the vessel. Proposals are due June 03, 2026.

Scope of Work

The project requires the provision and installation of temporary chill water (TEMP CW) units to maintain temperatures below 80 degrees Fahrenheit in designated spaces aboard the USS PIONEER. Key tasks include:

  • Installation of TEMP CW units in various compartments (e.g., Combat Information Center, Communication Center, Gyro, Central Control Station, CO/XO State Rooms, Ship's Office, Supply Department Office, Crew Living Spaces).
  • Fabricating adapters for connecting TEMP CW flexible hoses with cooling coil (CC) and fan coil assembly (FCA).
  • Connecting appropriate power distribution panels and power cables, and labeling units with "ON" and "OFF" indicators.
  • Installing emergency contact information tags.
  • Operating and maintaining TEMP CW units throughout the availability period.
  • Removing TEMP CW units and reinstalling existing chill water (CW) piping using new gaskets and packing.
  • Performing an operational pressure test on existing CW piping.
  • The temporary air-cooled heat pump water chiller must have a minimum cooling capacity of 119 kW and a circulation pump flow rate of 122 GPM.
