• Ship Check: Scheduled for May 13-14, 2026, at BASE NATO/POL PIER, USS MOUNT WHITNEY LCC-20, Gaeta, Italy. Requests to attend are due by May 11, 2026. Participation is optional but recommended. Costs are not reimbursed.

• Response Requirements: Interested parties should submit a response indicating interest by June 12, 2026, via email. The response should include Company Name, address, phone number; Primary Point of Contact details; and a summary description of ability to meet objectives (max 1 page).

• The RFP is anticipated to be released in late June/early July 2026.

• The deadline to respond with interest is June 12, 2026.

• The deadline to request attendance for the ship check is May 11, 2026.

Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

This document outlines the requirements for the contractor to provide a weight report detailing all weight and moment changes to the ship resulting from all work accomplished during this availability.

• The contractor shall provide a detailed weight report.

• This report shall list all weight additions, removals, and relocations to the ship, including associated centers of gravity.

• Changes in buoyancy must also be reported.

• Small weights (less than 0.1 long tons or 224 lbs) may be combined and estimated.

• Weights shall be documented by manufacturer, estimation, actual weighing, or calculation.

• Items are to be accounted for at the component level.

• For systems containing liquids, the weight of the liquid shall be reported separately from the dry weight of the system.

• The weight format shall be tabular and include: Item, number and description; Weight (long tons); Vertical lever (VCG), feet above baseline; Vertical moment, foot-tons; Longitudinal lever (LCG), feet aft or forward of the forward perpendicular; Longitudinal moment, foot-tons; Transverse lever (TCG), feet off centerline port/starboard; Transverse moment, foot-tons port/starboard; Resultant weight, long tons; Resultant VCG, feet above baseline; Resultant LCG, feet aft of forward perpendicular; Resultant TCG, feet off centerline port/starboard.

• Weight (tons) and distance (ft.) shall be rounded to two decimal places. Moments shall be rounded to the whole foot-ton.

• Dimensions aft of the forward perpendicular, above baseline and to port shall always be considered positive.

• A preliminary report is required five days prior to docking if any weights have already been removed or added.

• Two copies of the preliminary weight report shall be forwarded for review five days prior to re-floating the ship from the dry-dock.

• A revised copy of the weight report one week before the end of the shipyard period.

• Two copies of the final weight report two weeks after the shipyard period.

• The final report shall incorporate any comments provided about the preliminary report.

• All reports shall be submitted to the MSCREP.

• The work is to be performed throughout the contract period of performance.

• The report must be prepared and signed by a degreed engineer or licensed professional engineer with annotation of the individual's qualifying credential(s).

• An electronic copy on CD shall be mailed to the MSC Technical Library.
