Scope of Work

This requirement involves the lease or rental of a vessel and provision of fuel for marine and scientific operations. Key tasks include:

  • Water Property Casts: Performance of several water property casts within the study area.

Vessel & Personnel Specifications

The chartered vessel must be U.S. Coast Guard licensed, seaworthy, at least 40 feet overall length, with a cruising speed of at least 7 knots. It must accommodate up to four USGS personnel and be equipped with an A-frame or davit (6ft clearance) and a winch (1000lbs SWL, 200ft wire). The vessel must be capable of holding position within 10 meters of waypoints for up to 10 minutes; manual station-keeping is acceptable. The captain must possess a U.S. Coast Guard license and demonstrate relevant experience. Marine and general public liability insurance with specified minimum limits is also required.
