Scope of Work
The project involves the demolition and replacement of three deteriorated concrete boat ramps at Kirwin NWR to improve public safety, enhance property protection, and reduce long-term maintenance. Key tasks include:
- Demolishing and replacing the North Shore and South Shore concrete boat ramps.
- Demolishing existing concrete boat docks (bulkheads).
- Extending, reinforcing, and potentially moving existing wave breaks.
- Constructing two new double-lane concrete boat ramps, each 20 ft wide and 6 inches thick, with a median for a steel boat dock.
- Installing a vertical curve at the top of each ramp.
- Removing accumulated sediments from in-water portions of boat ramps and maneuvering areas (dredging).
- Adhering to performance standards such as 4,000 psi concrete strength, #4 epoxy coated rebar, non-skid V-groove finish, and 95% subgrade/aggregate compaction.
