Quick Summary
The National Park Service (NPS), through its DSC Contracting Services Division, has issued a Pre-Solicitation Notice for construction services to stabilize Mint Spring Bayou (VICK 209252) and Terraces & Graves (VICK 310725/324137) at Vicksburg National Military Park in Vicksburg, Mississippi. This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside opportunity, with the formal Request for Proposal (RFP) anticipated in August/September 2025.
Scope of Work
This project addresses critical stabilization needs for historical and cultural resources, encompassing two primary areas:
- Stabilize Terraces and Graves (VICK 310725/324137): Construction of approximately 272 linear feet of soldier pile and lagging retaining wall with an earthen buttress to repair a landslide at the National Cemetery and restore a section of Given Hill Road. Work includes mobilization, clearing, demolition, grading, excavation, asphalt/concrete paving, drainage retrofitting, soldier pile/lagging installation, ground anchors, French drains, new turf, and stormwater pollution prevention. Archaeological and cultural investigations are required.
- Stabilize Mint Spring Bayou (VICK 209252): Construction of a slope stabilization system utilizing high-capacity strand anchors with reinforced concrete anchor plates and reinforced granular fill. This also includes stabilization of the area between the southwest corner of the cemetery and Mint Spring Bayou, minor clearing, erosion control, and installation of a wall drainage system. Archaeological and cultural investigations are also required for this component.
