Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To replace the existing steam and condensate return lines across the Salisbury VA Medical Center campus, ensuring continued heating and operational efficiency.

• Replace a portion of the steam line from Buildings 10 to 18 (Manholes 17B through 15).

• Demolish and remove existing 1965 steam line sections.

• Install new steam and condensate return piping, sized for current loads and future expansion (10-15%).

• Construct three new manholes along the path of the old 1965 steam line.

• Re-use one existing manhole (MH-D, renamed MH-10B) and modify it for new piping.

• Replace two existing manholes (MH-A & MH-B) that are too small for new piping.

• Remove two existing manholes (MH-C & MH-10A) entirely.

• Install new penetrations through below-grade walls for Buildings 16 and 17.

• Replace existing condensate return piping and connect to new mains.

• Install indirect sanitary connections with quench valves for condensate discharge.

• Address asbestos-containing materials (ACM) encountered during excavation and demolition.

• Perform commissioning of the new steam pipe from Building 18 to Building 10.

• Estimated construction duration: 365 days.

• Location: Salisbury VA Medical Center campus, North Carolina.

• Includes one (1) year of construction warranty.

• Site preparation, traffic control, and demolition of concrete sidewalk panels.
