Scope of Work
The contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, materials, and equipment to prepare for and complete the installation of new flooring. This includes:
- Prerequisite Surface Preparation: Moving furniture (desks, chairs, filing cabinets, safes, office dividers), removal and proper disposal of existing carpet and flooring, and subfloor preparation (patching and leveling).
- Flooring and Material Installation: Installation of new flooring across approximately 4,420 square feet within the Command Post facility. This specifically includes 132 units of Shaw Carpet Tile, 4 units of Tarkett VCT, 14 units of Johnsonite 6" cove base, and 12 units of rubber stairnose. A straight lay installation is specified for carpet tiles, with transition strips between VCT and carpet.
- Site Protection and Cleanup: Protecting existing property, maintaining a clean work area, and proper disposal of waste. Work must be conducted by areas to minimize disruption to 24/7 mission activities.
- Material Specifications: Materials must be highly durable, withstand heavy foot traffic, have excellent adhesion, and be resistant to chipping and scuffing. Shaw products are specified, and Mohawk Group Duracolor Tricor products are not an option. Low-odor and low-VOC materials are preferred.
