Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

This Performance Work Statement (PWS) details the requirements for the rehabilitation of Service Gate Stems No. 2 (Base Bid) and No. 5 (Bid Option) at the Cherry Creek Dam in Aurora, Colorado. The goal is to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of the intake service gates.

• Refurbish cylinder rods (gate stems) and automatic gate hanger cylinder rods through cleaning, removal of mineral buildup and pitting, polishing, measuring, and off-site re-chroming.

• Hone the inner wall of the cylinder to remove minor scoring and achieve a smooth surface.

• Clean and inspect piston rings and prepare an inspection report with photographs and condition documentation.

• Replace oil packing, glands, studs, and nuts in the automatic gate hanger assembly.

• Replace oil packing and glands in the main hydraulic cylinder.

• Replace water packing in the main hydraulic cylinder.

• Replace gate bonnet studs and nuts, and all hydraulic cylinder gaskets.

• Machine a groove in the water packing seat and install a new scraper style wiper.

• Replace cap screws on the gate lower stem nut access cover.

• The work may require multiple mobilizations and demobilizations.

• The contractor must protect workers from lead-based paint exposure and dispose of debris according to regulations.
