Questions & Answers / Clarifications

• Fire Alarm Equipment Testing: Initial testing of fire alarm equipment will be performed per UFC, specs, and manufacturer recommendations. The Government alarm shop, in coordination with Eielson Fire, will conduct a subsequent test.
• Commissioning: No third-party commissioning is required. However, the contractor must include activities in their schedule for system start-up, testing, and performance verification as outlined in the technical specifications for the hangar door operating system and snow melt system.
• Radiant Tubing Size: The correct minimum size for radiant tubing is 5/8". Revised M110 drawings have been provided.
• Snowmelt Manifold: The correct performance requirements for the snowmelt manifold are 12 GPM. Revised M110 drawings have been provided.
• Laydown Area: The contractor parking and hangar bay will serve as the laydown area. Additional areas require PM approval. All laydown areas will be fenced.
• Fencing: A 6 ft high fence is acceptable for contractor areas off the airfield (e.g., parking lot). On the flightline, fencing must be flush with the subgrade, 8 ft high, and driven into the ground.
• SSHO Requirement: A full-time, singular SSHO is required on site.
• Photos: Authorization for photos will be granted by escort. The government may take photos on the contractor's behalf. No photos will be taken of the taxiway, flightline, aircraft, or aircraft assets unless specifically cleared.
