Scope of Work
The contractor will furnish all management, supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools, supplies, consumables, and parts for the service, maintenance, and repair of various fire alarm and suppression systems at the VHSO Main Campus and outbuildings. This includes:
- Scheduled Services: Annual, semi-annual, and quarterly inspections and testing of fire alarm control panels, initiating/indicating devices, power supplies, annunciators, batteries, and digital voice controls.
- Water-Based Systems: Maintenance, inspection, and testing of valves, pumps, sprinkler systems, backflow prevention assemblies, and fire department connections.
- Dry Pipe Systems: Annual and quarterly testing, including draining low points.
- Kitchen Hood Systems: Semi-annual testing, inspection, and maintenance.
- Hydrants, Standpipes, and Fire Pumps: Annual flow tests for hydrants and standpipes, annual full flow tests for diesel and electric fire pumps, and weekly non-flow tests for fire pumps.
- Unscheduled/Emergency Service: On-site response within 2 hours, with corrections or contingency plans within 4 hours of arrival (24/7/365 availability).
- Reporting: Fully completed inspection forms within 3 business days of inspection completion, and a log of repairs and abnormal findings.
- Qualifications: Contractors must be qualified service technicians with relevant licenses. A minimum of one technician must be certified in Notifier Onyx Series factory training.
- Parts: VHSO will furnish most replacement parts, except for batteries and gauges, which the contractor must provide. Contractor installs all parts. Sprinkler head replacement and complete fire pump/motor replacement are excluded.
- Compliance: All work must comply with specified National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) standards and Joint Commission Inspection Requirements.
