Purpose & Scope
FEMA requires professional language services to ensure effective communication with non-native English speakers and communities impacted by Typhoon Halong. The scope includes providing professional, in-person, spoken language, and sight interpreting services between English and Central Alaskan Yup'ik. Services will be conducted in Anchorage, Bethel, and other communities or villages impacted by the disaster, as well as remotely via phone or electronic communication. Interpreters must be fluent in both languages, culturally competent, and familiar with FEMA programs and terminology.
Contract Details
- Contract Type: Hybrid Firm Fixed Price (FFP) for interpretation hours and Cost Reimbursement for authorized travel.
- Period of Performance: A 90-calendar day base period (April 27, 2026 - July 26, 2026) with one 90-day option period.
- Place of Performance: Primarily FEMA facilities in Anchorage, Bethel, and impacted field locations/villages in Alaska. Remote interpretation will be performed from the Contractor's facility.
- Set-Aside: This opportunity is a Disaster Area Set-Aside for contractors registered in SAM with a primary business location in one of the federally designated disaster areas for DR-4893-AK. Specific areas include Bering Strait REAA, Iditarod Area REAA, Kashunamiut REAA, Lower Kuskokwim REAA, Lower Yukon REAA, Northwest Arctic Borough, Pribilof Island REAA, St. Marys City SD, Yukon Koyukuk REAA, and Yupiit REAA. Local preference will be given, and if no local offers are received, all offers will be considered.
