Scope of Work
The contractor will be responsible for providing and verifying field measurements, then purchasing and installing specified doors. This includes:
- Aluminum/glass doors (e.g., Kawneer Trifab VersaGlaze, Oldcastle 3000) for storefront systems.
- Hollow metal doors for personnel doors.
- Exterior storefronts require Aluminum Bronze Frames with 1" insulated Bronze tinted Low-e glass, and a minimum 10" bottom rail.
- Hardware: Exterior doors need keyed locks accepting "BEST" cores with panic hardware; interior doors require push/pull hardware with no locks. Bronze surface mount closers on all doors.
- Exterior door features: Thresholds, door sweeps, and weather stripping, with proper seal around all frames.
- Frame Replacement: Hollow metal frames grouted into CMU walls must be replaced, not repaired, requiring saw cutting for removal. New frames are required for all doors.
- Recycling: Removal and delivery of old doors, hardware, and materials to Building 1800 Recycle Center, supporting MHAFB's recycling policy.
- Hazardous Materials: Contractor is responsible for performing hazardous material surveys (asbestos and lead-based paint testing) for suspect materials at various buildings if none have been conducted. Demolished metal components must be asbestos-free, and lead-based paint tested before base turnover.
Contract Details
- Contract Type: Firm Fixed Price.
- Estimated Magnitude: Between $250,000 and $500,000.
- Period of Performance: Work must begin within 10 calendar days and be completed within 180 calendar days after award or notice to proceed.
- Bonds: Performance and Payment Bonds are required within 10 calendar days after award. A 20% Bid Bond is also required.
