Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force, specifically the 6th Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS) at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, is soliciting proposals for Vehicle Maintenance (VM) uniform lease and laundering services. This Total Small Business Set-Aside opportunity requires a full-service program for approximately 25 technicians. Offers are due by May 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM EST.
Scope of Work
The contractor shall provide all management, tools, supplies, equipment, uniforms, and labor for a comprehensive uniform lease and laundering program. This includes:
- Uniform Provision: Supply high-quality, durable, dark blue, three-piece work uniforms (short-sleeve shirt, matching pant, matching jacket) comparable to Carhartt and Dickies brands. Each of the approximately 25 technicians requires 7 sets. Uniforms must include one name tape on each side of the chest (name on one, 2T3 logo and shop name on the other).
- Shop Rags: Provide at least 50 red shop rags per month; color is not critical, but material durability is the primary factor.
- Laundering Services: Professional laundering, pickup, cleaning, and delivery of soiled uniforms. Garments will be exposed to engine oil, transmission fluid, hydro fluid, and mogas/diesel, requiring appropriate cleaning. They must be returned hygienic, clean, dry, folded, and free of debris or excessive wrinkling.
- Maintenance & Replacement: Inspect uniforms for damage, perform necessary repairs (mending tears, replacing buttons/zippers), and replace damaged or excessively worn garments at no additional cost. The contractor is responsible for replacing lost/damaged garments during transport. The government (VM personnel) will replace lost/damaged garments (beyond normal wear and tear) at contract end.
- Inventory Management: Implement a system for tracking and assigning garments, conduct onsite measurements for new personnel, and manage the inventory pool to accommodate personnel changes. Initial garment delivery (4 shirts/pants) is required within 30 days of measurement, with remaining garments within 60 days. A 4-6 week delivery timeframe for uniforms is acceptable if no embroidery or special customization is required.
- Logistics: Provide industrial laundry carts for soiled items and establish a flexible pickup and delivery schedule, with normal hours every Wednesday between 0900 and 1400.
