Scope of Work
The contractor will provide comprehensive Cardiothoracic Surgery services, including complex procedures such as VATs, Lobectomy's, thoracotomy, diaphragm plication, chest wall hernia repair, decortication, pleurectomy, and chest tube management. Services also encompass initial patient evaluation (inpatient, outpatient, ED), surgical procedures, post-operative care, Cardiothoracic Surgery Consults, and emergency support for pacemaker implants and interventional cardiology.
A minimum of two (2) key personnel, Board Certified/Board Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeons, are required. On-site coverage is needed on Mondays and Wednesdays (7:00 am - 3:30 pm) for elective procedures and patient evaluations, and for Friday meetings. On-call coverage includes evenings/overnights on Mondays and Wednesdays (3:30 pm - 7:00 am), and 24-hour coverage on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, weekends, and holidays. Key personnel must be available on-site within one hour for back-up/emergency cases.

- Contract Type: Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ).
- Period of Performance: One (1) base year plus four (4) one-year option periods, expected from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2031.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Physicians must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth, or the District of Columbia. An active Puerto Rico medical license is not specifically required for services performed onsite at VA property. Physicians must be Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, hold current BLS and ACLS certifications, and have a minimum of four (4) years of continuous work experience within the last five (5) years. Credentialing and privileging must comply with VHA Directives 1100.20 and 1100.21. Registration in SAM.gov is required.
