Quick Summary

The Department of the Air Force, specifically the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Armament Directorate, is conducting market research through this Request for Information (RFI) for a Family of Affordable Mass Missiles – Beyond Adversary’s Reach (FAMM-BAR). The purpose is to identify potential sources capable of designing, developing, and manufacturing adaptable and affordable mass missiles for the U.S. Government and Foreign Military Sales. Responses are due by April 29, 2026, at 1700 hrs EST.

Scope of Work

The program seeks a single, common, air-to-surface munition that is affordable, adaptable, and possesses significant standoff range. Key performance attributes include a range of ≥ 1000 NM, speed of ≥ 0.7 Mach, targeting slow-moving maritime assets, and mid-course navigation. The primary deployment method is Palletized (from cargo aircraft), with a secondary Lugged method (from fighter and additional aircraft). Information is also requested on the munition's ability to be delivered from air-to-surface and surface-to-surface by Army and Navy systems, purely for information gathering. Anticipated manufacturing rate per vendor is ≥ 1,000 AUR per year.

Contract & Timeline

This is an RFI for market research and planning purposes only; it does not constitute a solicitation or commitment to contract. The potential procurement objective is to produce an inventory for 5 years, with annual production orders ranging from 1000-2000 units per year. Responses should consider meeting criteria for an Other Transaction Authority (OTA) Agreement (10 U.S.C. § 4022).
