Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force is seeking proposals for a Storage Cabinet System with Mezzanine/Catwalk for Building 1884 at Edwards Air Force Base, CA. This is a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation (RFQ) for the procurement and turnkey installation of a high-density, smart storage solution. This opportunity is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Offers are due by April 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM PST.
Scope of Work
The requirement is for a complete, turnkey solution including procurement of system components, labor, supervision, and materials for the installation of a high-density storage system. The system must be equivalent to or greater than the Stanley Vidmar brand, designed for industrial environments. It will feature a two-level structure (ground and one upper tier) with an integrated mezzanine, walkway, and stairway access (East side) equipped with safety railings. Approximately 72 heavy-duty storage cabinets, keyed alike, in various drawer and shelf configurations (Bright Blue and Dark Blue) are required. The system must fit within a 40' W x 5' D area, maintaining 36 inches of clear walking space.
Key Requirements & Clarifications
- System Configuration: The mezzanine structure is cabinet-supported. Double-wide cabinets are preferred for the second floor, and single-wide for the first floor. Shelf cabinets will have stationary/adjustable shelves and no doors. Drawers should be shorter height on top, going from top to bottom.
- Installation: Must be level, plumb, and structurally sound, engineered to manufacturer specifications and safety codes, certified to support full weight (cabinets, contents, personnel). Contractor must provide own on-site material handling equipment.
- Site Access: All contractor personnel must be U.S. Citizens, undergo background checks, and require escorts. No cell phones or personal electronic devices are permitted within the compound.
- Debris Management: The work area must be cleaned daily, with all debris removed offsite. Contractor is responsible for dumpster supply and management.
- Storage Priority: Meeting the full storage requirement is the primary priority. Bidders should quote the complete solution as specified in the SOW and note any discrepancies if the configuration exceeds the available footprint.
