Scope of Work
The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, and equipment for the Stringout Replacement at EEY and incidental related work. The project is divided into a base project and six (6) options. Key tasks include:
- Removal of existing steel ramp, abutment, timber, steel pipe, and concrete piles.
- Demolition and removal of concrete piles and pile caps from the existing railroad trestle.
- Excavation, dredging, and disposal of materials.
- Installation of steel floats (GFE) and a new landing barge.
- Providing new steel pipe piles, steel-framed pile clusters, and donut fenders.
- Installation of new utilities (electrical power, lighting, lightning protection, potable water, fire water, telecom, compressed air).
- Construction of a new steel connector bridge, an electrical substation (including equipment foundation), and abutment/landside approach to the connector bridge.
- All associated earthwork activities. The base project work shall be completed sequentially from Phase 1 to Phase 2 to allow continued operation of the Ensley Engineer Yard. Phase 1 must be completed before Phase 2 begins. Options, if awarded, will be completed in the sequence directed by the Government.
