Scope of Work

The contractor shall provide all mobilization, labor, supervision, materials, equipment, transportation, site rehabilitation, clean-up, and demobilization to:

  • Install a certified structured fiber optic cabling system connecting the John Muir National Historic Site (JOMU) Maintenance Building Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) to the JOMU Adobe Building IDF.
  • Perform bi-directional OTDR testing on existing 6-strand single mode fiber cable between the Visitor Center and Muir House to verify continuity, attenuation, and usability.
  • Demolish existing six-strand single-mode fiber cable and two fiber splice enclosures.
  • Install new single-mode fiber backbone between buildings using existing conduit pathways, including grounding busbars, rack-mounted fiber enclosures, EMT sleeves, and approximately 1,500 feet of OS2 indoor/outdoor OFCP-rated single-mode fiber optic cable.
  • Terminate all fiber strands with LC connectors, bond cables, and provide machine-generated labeling.
  • Provide and install two OS2 LC-to-LC duplex fiber patch cords (1 meter each). All work must adhere to industry standards, project drawings, and manufacturer requirements. Salvaged materials become the property of the Contractor.
