Quick Summary

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), specifically the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), is soliciting quotes for demolition and odor control services for fire-damaged larval rooms at the Mexican Fruit Fly Rearing Facility (MFFRF), Building 6418, located at Moore Air Base in Edinburg, TX. This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside. The facility is crucial for the eradication of Mexican Fruit Flies in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. Quotes are due by June 3, 2026, at noon CT.

Scope of Work

The contractor shall provide all materials, supplies, and labor to demolish fire-damaged larval rooms 1-4 within Building 6418. This includes removing burnt debris, metal panels, bracing, wood framing, utility equipment, roof/ceiling components, walls, siding, and internal electrical/mechanical systems. The work requires de-energizing and securing electrical and mechanical systems, including the removal of eight Trane air handlers. The larval room hallway structure will remain, with new Hardie board siding installed and containment resealed. Additionally, the scope includes pressure washing and de-odorizing the interior and exterior of the larval hallway using an environmentally friendly solution, followed by final clean-up and removal of all debris and trash from the work areas and immediate exterior paths.
